Choosing airport transport based only on passenger numbers can lead to problems when everyone arrives with several suitcases. A vehicle that accommodates four passengers may not necessarily provide enough room for four large cases, hand luggage and additional travel items. Before arranging a pre-booked airport taxi, consider the total luggage load as well as the number of people travelling.
Begin by counting your bags and estimating their size. Include checked suitcases, cabin bags, pushchairs and any other items that need to travel in the vehicle. Share these details when requesting a quotation so the operator can advise on an appropriate option. Travellers carrying bulky equipment or unusually large items should mention them specifically. It is better to confirm capacity before the journey than to discover at collection that the planned vehicle cannot accommodate everything comfortably.
Different vehicle types can suit different travel situations. A hatchback may be practical for a small party with limited luggage, while an estate car offers additional boot space. Larger groups may wish to enquire about a minibus, depending on passenger numbers and the amount of luggage. Do not assume that every model has the same capacity or that the maximum passenger count means every seat can be used alongside a full luggage load. The operator should confirm the suitability of the available vehicle for your requirements.
